Terms & Conditions.

These are the terms every learner acknowledges at registration — the same rules our admissions and delivery teams work to every day.

1. Eligibility and screening

Learners must be at least 16 years old at the time of registration; age is verified against NRIC or passport where necessary.
Functional spoken and written English is required to participate in training and assessment.
Learners must be able to move independently for practical sessions and must declare any medical condition that may affect safe participation. Medical clearance may be requested before a place is confirmed.
Enrolment is confirmed only when the registration file is complete and all identity, payment, and funding claims have been verified. LMS access is provided immediately after that confirmation.

2. Fees, funding, and payment

The published full fee for the IFPA Certified Personal Fitness Trainer Seminar is S$899 before any eligible funding. The Sports Nutrition Specialist and Senior Fitness Specialist self-study modules each have a S$449 standard fee and are fully self-funded; SSG, SkillsFuture Credit, PSEA, and UTAP do not apply to them. An existing IFPA PFT learner gets S$50 off SNS or SFS, making the verified learner price S$399. Eligibility is automatically checked when the application is submitted using an exact match on either email address or mobile number from the existing PFT learner record; one match is sufficient.
Successfully completing and passing SNS or SFS can extend an existing IFPA PFT certification by two years, subject to IFPA's current renewal and processing requirements. If a learner fails SNS or SFS, the retest fee is S$200.
Funding amounts shown on this website are estimates, and SSG funding for the PFT course applies only once SSG course funding approval is in place. Eligibility, funding treatment, and SkillsFuture Credit use are verified by admin before course confirmation.
GST, where applicable, is calculated on the full unsubsidised course fee in line with SSG requirements.
Unless a PSEA route has been arranged with Carbyne Education before payment, payment is collected online at the point of application through our payment provider (card and PayNow where enabled). The amount charged is the published fee net of estimated SSG funding and any SkillsFuture Credit you declare. A PDF course invoice is emailed after submission, and an official receipt follows once payment or funding evidence is confirmed.
The PFT seminar is approved for PSEA use. A learner intending to use PSEA must contact Carbyne Education before paying so the appropriate MOE Standing Order or one-off ad hoc withdrawal route can be arranged. PSEA is subject to available funds and MOE processing, is not automatically deducted at checkout, and is not treated as a refund after payment. A parent or legal guardian must submit for an account holder below 21.
Funding eligibility and the amount payable are determined from the information you declare at application. If a declared SSG subsidy or SkillsFuture Credit claim cannot be made or approved because your information is incomplete or untrue, the shortfall is immediately payable by you, and we may withhold or terminate your enrolment in line with the refund policy in Section 5. UTAP is a separate post-course reimbursement, so an unsuccessful UTAP claim does not create or reduce any amount due to us.
Learners enjoying SSG funding must pass all required assessments. If a required assessment is not passed, the SSG subsidy will be revoked, and the learner will be liable to pay the remaining shortfall of the full gross course fee (S$899) out-of-pocket; the IFPA Online Test will not be bookable until the shortfall is paid. Separately, Carbyne Education requires at least five of the PFT seminar's six attendance checkpoints (1:00 PM and 6:00 PM on each day), including the mandatory Day 3 6:00 PM checkpoint, to earn the Certificate of Completion. Missing this completion requirement does not affect SSG funding, but the IFPA Online Test cannot be booked until the Certificate of Completion is earned. This applies only to the SSG-funded IFPA Certified Personal Fitness Trainer Seminar; the self-study SNS and SFS modules are not SSG-funded and are unaffected.
UTAP is reimbursed by NTUC directly to the member after course completion; it is never deducted from the fee charged at checkout. The eligible amount is based on qualifying out-of-pocket fees, so UTAP cannot reimburse a portion covered by SkillsFuture Credit, PSEA, company sponsorship, or other funding.

3. Attendance and completion

PFT attendance is recorded at six checkpoints: 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM on each of Days 1, 2, and 3. Completion requires the published minimum of 75% and, operationally, at least five of those six checkpoints; Day 3 at 6:00 PM is mandatory and may not be the missed checkpoint.
A missed checkpoint triggers follow-up. SingPass e-attendance is used for SSG-funded runs where applicable, with a manually reconciled backup record.

4. Assessment and certification

Seminar completion is assessed locally through Role Play and Oral Questioning, each requiring a competent rating on all critical criteria.
All assessment results are verified by the Management Representative before release or submission; no result is communicated without verification.
The IFPA Online Test (110 multiple-choice questions, 80% pass mark, remote proctoring) is administered separately by IFPA and is not a requirement for seminar completion. Booking opens only after Day 3 has ended and the attendance, practical-assessment, and financial gates below have cleared. The test must be booked within 6 months of course commencement (Day 1 of the seminar).
You may self-reschedule an exam booking once, free of charge, through the Carbyne LMS if you make the change at least 72 hours before the scheduled exam time. Any later or additional change requires Carbyne Education admin assistance. This exam-booking rule is separate from the PFT course-run transfer policy in Section 6.
The IFPA Online Test becomes bookable only after Day 3 has ended, you have earned the Certificate of Completion for the seminar (at least five of six attendance checkpoints including Day 3 at 6:00 PM, plus all required assessments), and any outstanding course-fee balance has been paid or waived.

5. Withdrawal and refunds

A withdrawal and refund may be requested manually through T-14 inclusive: up to and including 14 calendar days before the immutable original Day 1 date for your booking. An eligible request receives a full refund of the amount paid, with no administrative charge.
Under the standard policy, withdrawal and refund are not permitted from T-13 onward or after the course starts. You may contact Admissions about exceptional circumstances for a separate written finance review at Carbyne Education's sole discretion; approval is not guaranteed, and the standard online deadline is not extended.
Course cancellation by the provider: 100% refund of all fees paid.
The original Day 1 date remains the immutable reference even if a run's visible dates later change. Provider cancellation permits a 100% refund and a free transfer.
Eligible refund requests are processed within 14 business days via the original payment method or bank transfer, with the outcome communicated in writing.

6. Rescheduling and transfers

A manual reschedule request may be made through T-14 inclusive, measured from the immutable original Day 1 date. One transfer is permitted within 6 months, subject to a published run and available seats.
A reschedule carries a S$50 administrative fee. Any fee or funding difference for the new run applies. Once transferred, the booking is final and cannot be transferred again.
If the provider cancels a run, you may transfer free of charge or request a 100% refund. A no-show permits no transfer and no refund.
For SkillsFuture Credit, the learner must cancel the original claim and submit a new claim themselves; we do not cancel or reapply an SFC claim on the learner's behalf.

7. Appeals, complaints, and feedback

Assessment appeals must be submitted in writing within 14 calendar days of receiving results. An independent reviewer is appointed, and a written outcome is provided within 14 business days. The appeal decision is final.
Complaints are acknowledged within 2 business days and receive a written outcome within 10 business days, with escalation to the Director if the learner disagrees.
Feedback is acknowledged within 2 business days with an outcome within 5 business days.

8. Conduct and safety

Learners are expected to participate respectfully and follow trainer safety instructions during practical sessions.
After enrolment is confirmed, Carbyne Education will invite the learner to a course WhatsApp group for course-related communication and voluntary learning discussions between learners. Joining is optional. A learner who joins understands that other group members may see their mobile number, WhatsApp profile information, and anything they post, and agrees to keep discussions respectful and not share another person's NRIC/FIN, payment, medical, or other sensitive personal information.
The provider may pause a learner's practical participation where a safety concern or undeclared medical condition arises, pending review.

9. Practical participation and assumption of risk

Practical training involves physical exercise — including resistance training, movement drills, and partner coaching practice — which carries inherent risks such as muscle strain, joint injury, and, in rare cases, more serious injury, even when sessions are properly supervised.
By enrolling you confirm that the health, medical, and mobility declarations you make at registration are accurate and complete, and you agree to tell us promptly if your condition changes before or during the course.
You agree to follow trainer safety instructions and venue rules at all times, and, to the extent permitted by law, you voluntarily accept the inherent risks of physical training that remain after we have taken reasonable safety precautions.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the provider, its trainers, and its staff against claims, losses, or costs arising from inaccurate or incomplete health declarations, failure to follow safety instructions or venue rules, or your negligent or wilful acts during training.

10. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Singapore law.
Subject to the point above, our total aggregate liability to you in connection with a course — whether in contract, tort, or otherwise — is capped at the total fees you paid for that course.
Subject to the same carve-outs, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of income or business opportunity, or costs you incur with third parties (such as travel, accommodation, or equipment) in connection with a course, its rescheduling, or its cancellation.
The IFPA Online Test and IFPA credentials are administered by the International Fitness Professionals Association. We do not guarantee test outcomes, credential issuance timelines, or employment outcomes, and we are not responsible for IFPA's decisions or delays.

11. Records

Training, assessment, communication, and fee records are retained for at least 5 years from course completion, handled under the Privacy & Data Protection notice.

12. The provider

Courses on this website are delivered by Get Certified PT (UEN 53497783M), a registered business name owned by Carbyne Education Pte. Ltd. (UEN 202623731G).
References to "Carbyne Education", "the provider", "we", or "us" in these terms mean Get Certified PT and Carbyne Education Pte. Ltd. as applicable.
