Our story

It started as Get Certified PT.

We began with a single focus and a single course: Get Certified PT, running the IFPA Certified Personal Fitness Trainer seminar in Singapore. The idea was simple — bring a respected, internationally recognised certification to Singapore and teach it properly, with real coaching and real assessment.

As the programme grew, so did our ambition — from a single certification toward a broader education company under Carbyne Education Pte. Ltd. But the founding belief hasn't changed: learners deserve courses that are thorough, affordable, and taught in classes small enough to matter.

Carbyne Education Pte. Ltd. (UEN 202623731G) is the owner of Get Certified PT (UEN 53497783M), the registered Training Provider for the IFPA Certified Personal Fitness Trainer course.

What we stand for

How we intend to stand out.

The personal-training market is crowded with quick, cut-price certificates. We take the opposite bet: quality courses, at prices real people can afford, taught in classes small enough that every learner can maximise their learning.

Quality over volume

Every learner works through the full IFPA seven-phase curriculum with live coaching, hands-on practical work, and a real assessment — not a rushed weekend crash course.

Affordable, funded access

We keep the seminar priced fairly: eligible learners apply SSG funding and SkillsFuture Credit before payment, then eligible NTUC members can claim UTAP after completion.

Healthy class ratios

Runs are capped at 20 learners with a facilitator-to-learner ratio of about 1:10, so nobody blends into the back row. Everyone is seen, corrected, and able to maximise their learning.

Giving back

Learning that gives back to the community.

We believe a certificate should lead to real experience — and that fitness should reach everyone, not just those who can afford a private gym. So we actively create opportunities for our graduates to coach real clients while doing genuine good.

Through our Silver Strength initiative, learners who have passed the PFT exam can volunteer with real senior clients and help lead group fitness classes at active ageing centres — building live coaching experience while keeping our community strong, steady, and independent. It's the kind of work we're always looking to do more of.

About Silver Strength

The founder

Brian Chang

Brian came to fitness from an unlikely place — a career in finance as an investment analyst. Training was, at first, just his own way of staying strong and steady.

The more serious he got, the clearer a gap became: in Singapore, good home training equipment was hard to find, and the pathway to becoming a properly certified personal trainer was thinner than it should be. He left the fund-management world to do something about both — founding a home fitness equipment business, and then bringing the IFPA Certified Personal Fitness Trainer certification to Singapore so the next generation of coaches could be trained the right way.

Today he leads Carbyne Education's strategy, quality, and learner care — and still trains, coaches, and champions the idea that a strong body is one of the best investments anyone can make.
